Overview

This 7-day land safari is ideal for people who want the extra convenience of a superb safari in northern Tanzania National Parks. The safari starts in Arusha after flying into Kilimanjaro International Airport on the same day or have an overnight after arrival. The safari will cover Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park, and the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park. Accommodations during the safari are at the Tented lodges inside and outside the parks with super comfort while enjoying wildlife on these national parks.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International airport.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be met by our representative with the guide and transferred to Venus Premier Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Marera Valley Lodge/Bougainvillea Lodge

Kilimanjaro Airport - ArushaLeave the lodge at 7.15 am in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park for a game drive. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. After the game drive, you will drive to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and overnight. This is where your safari will have an overnight.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, your guide will pick you up and head towards the Serengeti via the Ngorongoro crater rim, leaving the highlands behind, you descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. You will head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. You will have a game drive in the area and evening drive to Tanzania Bush Camps Serengeti for dinner and overnight

Day 4: Full day Serengeti National Park

Spend a full day exploring the vast Serengeti plains. You will rise early to enjoy an early morning game drive. At sunrise, you may encounter animals grazing in the beautiful light of sunrise, and predators may still be busy hunting before retiring to rest for the day. Sunrise on the Serengeti is not to be missed and extraordinary photographic opportunities will abound at this magical time of day. You have the option to return to your accommodation for a hot lunch or to opt for a packed lunch which can be enjoyed at one of the various picnic sites found in the Serengeti. After lunch, you will continue on a game drive. Around the time of dusk be on the lookout for lion.

Cheetah can also be spotted on the plains in the early morning and late afternoon when temperatures are not too high. They rely on daylight and speed to catch their prey. Hippo can be seen in the bigger pools and rivers while crocodiles can be seen sunning themselves on the riverbanks. You will return to camp in time to enjoy a sundowner before your evening meal. Day 5: Serengeti National Park - Naabi

You will rise early to enjoy an early morning game drive in the Serengeti and then you drive to Ndutu for a full day game drive in the area. You start looking for the big cats and also calving wildebeests. This time you have wildebeest in the area arriving for calving season starting in mid-February. You can decide to have lunch at the lodge and drive out after OR have a full day game drive. Late afternoon you drive to Tanzania Bush Camps Ndutu for Dinner and overnight

Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Arusha

Leave the lodge at 6,00am and drive to Ngorongoro crater. After check-in, you descend down 600 meters into the crater for a full day game drive. Supported by year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. You will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. After lunch, you leave the crater and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight Marera Valley/Bougainvillea Lodge
