Overview

This 5 days 4 nights Uganda safari will start and end in Kampala city Uganda capital, the tour will take you to one of the most visited parks in Uganda including Bwindi impenetrable national park for gorilla trekking. Bwindi impenetrable national park is known for hosting the highest number of these remaining apes in the world.

The tour will also take to Queen Elizabeth national park a home to a wide biodiversity of wildlife species including the tree climbing lions that live in the Ishasah extension of the park. Game viewing and boat cruise along the Kazinga channel will be the major highlight for this tour while in the park.  Both Bwindi and Queen national parks are located in the south western part of the park

Day 1: Travel to Bwindi impenetrable 

You will be picked from either Entebbe or hotel in Kampala by our safari guide/ driver gets you briefed about the safari and later drive you to south western part of Uganda to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to giant gorillas. The journey you passing via beautiful sceneries and rolling hills. You will have two stopovers before reaching the park one at the Equator to buy crafts and take photos and another in Mbarara for lunch. From here you will continue to the magnificent forest and home to mountain gorillas and other primate species reaching in the evening. Check into your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking safari-village walk

After a cup of tea or coffee, the guide will take you to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas and also get allocated to the gorilla group to trek. Bwindi national park host the highest number of these gentle giants in the world almost a half of the remaining mountain gorillas live in this park. Not only gorillas but also the park is a home to other species like butterflies, plants, primates, mammals, butterflies, frogs, among others.

Gorilla trekking experience last between 1-8 hours since meeting them depends on where they spent their last night from and once they are met you are strictly allowed only one hour with the gorillas taking photos as well as watching their behaviors . Just in case some of you are not interested in tracking gorillas, you can go for a short guided forest walk or Village walk to the Batwa community. Retire at the lodge.

Day 3: Travel to Queen Elizabeth via the Ishasha sector

On this day after breakfast you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth national park passing through the Ishasha sector an extension of Queen Elizabeth national park which is well known for tree climbing lions and other wildlife species such as monkeys, kobs, buffaloes, elephants, birds among others. Search for tree climbing lions and later drive to the park. Upon arrival at the park you will check in at the lodge, enjoy a yummy lunch relax in the evening you may go for a guided game drive and search for various game species that reside in the park including buffaloes, elephants antelopes. Dinner and Overnight.

Day 4: Game drive & a boat cruise- Kazinga Channel
After breakfast at the lodge go for an early morning game drive through the park for an opportunity to see the early risen species such as the hyenas, wildebeest and many other  different wildlife species like waterbucks, lions, elephants, , giraffes, antelopes, buffaloes, leopards, warthogs, plus a variety of  bird species. You will also view different crater lakes in the park. After this 3 hours game drive, head back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation as you prepare for the afternoon 2 hour boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. The kazinga channel connects two lakes George and Edward and it’s a beautiful place to see more species of wildlife along the shores, it’s a home to over 560 hippos; also birds and other animals like crocodiles, elephants, antelopes among others will be seen. Return to the lodge and have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive as you Depart to Kampala

Wake up for a hearty breakfast at the lodge and then after, you will first have a morning game drive as you drive out of the, have lunch en-route at the Equator, from here you will continue to Kampala/Entebbe to meet your departure flight back if scheduled on this day.

What you need to know
1. Tour can start any day
2. Solo travelers can join this tour
3. Tour is done under the post covid 19 SOPs
4. Age limit: 15 years and above
5. Suitable for single travelers as well
6. When tracking the gorillas, you should be having some level of fitness because it involves some hiking while tracking the gorillas
7. No sandals, open shoes allowed during the tracking of the gorillas, only covered shoes, hiking shoes
8. Additional accommodation on the last day can be arranged at an extra cost
9. The official currency in Uganda is Ugandan shillings. US Dollars are widely accepted which are printed after 2006.

NOTE:
If the initial deposit is only equivalent to the value of the gorilla permit, expect no refund.

Accommodation before or after the tour, can be arranged for an extra cost.
what must carry during the safari
Water: Gorilla trekking can be very tiresome and you need to refill your tank as the trek goes on. It is advisable to park a few water filtration tablets before you come for the trek.

Boots: You will need good waterproof comfortable shoes. Sometimes it rains during the trek, so skid proof shoes can come in handy.

Rain Jacket: You are advised to carry rain jacket because if rains very often in Bwindi Impenetrable forest

Snack: You can carry a light snack to give you some energy during the walk in the forest
Trouser and Shirts Bwindi forest is covered with thick undergrowth, therefore light trousers and long sleeved shirts are advised.

Socks: You will have to tuck in the trousers into the socks to avoid insects crawling inside.

Gloves: You will need Gardening gloves because you will be grabbing tree branches, leaves, name it, and some can be thorny.
